Green Certification

Ellery Kington is a Certified Green Professional (CGP) as well as an Accredited Verifier who is able to provide you with 3rd party Verification under the National Green Building Certification Program.

All homes certified as part of the National Green Building Certification are measured against the best existing definition of green and sustainable home construction.  Currently, the certification program is based on the NAHB Model Green Home Building Guidelines, published in 2005.  Homes certified under the national program also have the option of being certified based on the ANSI National Green Building Standard (ICC 700-2008), which includes provisions that define green attributes for subdivisions, multi-family dwellings, remodeling projects, additions, and single-family homes.

There are three green home certification levels available in the NAHB Model Green Building Guidelines - Bronze, Silver, and Gold.  (An additional Emerald level is available in the National Green Building Standard.)

The green levels and certifications address seven key green construction areas:
1) Site                                                                    5) Indoor Environmental Quality
2) Resource Efficiency                                  6) Homeowner Education
3) Energy Efficiency                                      7) Global Impact
4) Water Efficiency
